Borrower's Guide to the Library

Anyone can get a North Baltimore Public Library card with a valid picture ID with a current address. Patrons must have their library card with them to check out library materials, including signing up to use the computers. Use of your Library card holds you responsible for any materials charged out to that card.
 

Loan of Materials

Books & Audio Books - 2 weeks

renewable for 2 weeks - unless an item is on hold
 

Magazines - 1 week

renewable for 1 week - unless an item is on hold
 

Music CDs - 1 week

renewable for 1 week - unless an item is on hold
 

DVDs & Blue Ray Discs - 1 week

renewable for 1 week - unless an item is on hold
 
DVDs, BlueRay Disks and CDs are limited to 15 per checkout per day
 
 
Note: If you have fines of $1.00 or more you can not check out items or use the Public Computers until the fine is paid.  

  

Photocopies

$.15 each

2 sided copies are $.30

Color Copies are $.25 each

Double size copies (11 x 17) are $.20

Pay for copies at the Main Desk.

  

Fax charges

$3.00 for 1-5 pages domestic and $5.00 for 1-5 pages international

 Additional pages are $.20 each.

It is $.20 per page to receive faxes.

Magazines

We have a large selection of magazines.

You may borrow up to 10 at a time for up to a week.

 

Wolfe Community Room

The Wolfe Community Room can be rented for $80.00 for one day's use. 

There is a kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave.

The room use is first come- first served.

There is a refundable $80.00 key deposit required.  
 
  

Honor Books and Memorial Books

Honor books and memorial books can be placed in the library to remember special individuals and favorite pets.

 

Reference service is available in the library and over the phone.

 

Computers

 Public computers running Windows 10 are available for public use in the L. Len Trout Jr. Coumpter Center.   

The computers have Microsoft Office 2016.

Students in grades 7 and older may sign up for computers at the main desk.

Black and white computer printouts are available for $.15 each. 

 
 

Genealogy & Local History

We have individual histories from various residents, in paper format. These can be photocopied with care.

Patrons can do additional research online using Ancestry Library edition, which gives you access to all of ancestry.com's databases for FREE. Only catch is that you have to use a library computer on be on the library's wifi.

Print outs are $.15 each. 

 
We have an extensive Ohio history collection.
 
We have NBHS yearbooks covering most years at the front of the Library near the newspapers. 
 
We have Historic North Baltimore photos collected for the NB Historical Society by Tom Boltz. 
Feel free to ask for the Passport devise and see North Baltimore's rich historic past; just ask at the Main Desk.
 
 
The Ralph H. Wolfe Collection of Film, Television, & Theater covers drama of all types and circulates as a regular part of the collection.
 
 
The Ruth Jane Roberts Memorial Collection of Children's Literature can be found in the Children's Room of the Library.  The Children's Room serves all children from birth through grade 6.  See the Events Calendar for ongoing programs for preschoolers through teens.
